Pedro.
Sorry, but I was incorrect. Only the rear windows are switched via relay and the fronts are, as you said, completely switched by the BCU. I'm really sorry about that.

Dear amsr1970andre3,
Sorry, that did not come through the first time.
- In the US all are petrol and use active immobilization via a security link between the BCU and engine Mgmt System, just a different method.
- The immobilization can be disabled as can the alarm but they are separate. If immobilization is disabled the alarm does not have to be, but can be if desired.
- By "plip" I mean the part of the key with the buttons to lock/unlock the vehicle remotely.
- Not without some major work, BUT, you may just have a bad window relay. In the disco II the BCU is solid state and there are no relays to control function, unlike the Range Rover where the BECM also does all the switching. In the disco II all the BCU does is send a ground signal to the various relays. Off the top of my head I don't remember which relay does the window. I'll double check in the morning and tell you where exactly to look.
Dear amsr1970andre3,
Sure, not a problem. All of the various revisions are interchangeable- the latest part number will work in place of the oldest as well as the other way around. Certainly there were subtle changes but LAND ROVER does not release details regarding the reason for the part revision. I suspect the latest revision was to correct an issue where battery drain was occurring if the "market" was not set in the BCU settings but all are 100% interchangeable.
Dear amsr1970andre3,
Andre,
Thanks for your question. I'm going to apologize in advance for the length of my response.
Obviously, for the UK & ROW market the keys have the transponder chip as well as an immobilization coil on the ignition switch. For the North America market the keys lack the chip and we don't have the immobilizer coils fitted. The settings for the above are configurable within the BCU. Specifically the "passive immobilization" and "coil fitted" settings. I could simply program a BCU to TD5 spec but with the immobilization function deactivated which would solve the no-start issue.
As to programming the plip portion of the key for remote locking purposes it can be a bit iffy without the key present. Sometimes it just takes another shot to get the key program to take. If I have the date code and serial number from the board inside the plip I can generate the barcode and program it. With the barcode details any Landy specialist should be able to program the key should it not take.
I hope all that made sense. Also, all BCU part numbers are interchangeable and applicable to both Td5 and V8 variants.
Best regards,
Tristan
